Golden Gate

The Golden Gate Bridge at sunrise cloaked in its familiar fog. We docked the boat at the Coyote Point Marina in San Mateo and continued our adventures on land.

We were able to get a slip very close to my home town and spend some great time with friends and family. While we were there, we had some wonderful swim days in Grandma Carol's pool, and an outing to the Exploratorium in San Francisco with my sister Krista and nephew Indiana. We used my parents home as base and with a borrowed car we took a few road trips.

Our friends Ed, Amy, Severin and Charlie graciously put us up in their home for a week in Modesto and showed us a great time. The boys took bike rides, hunted for bugs and even made some spending money with a lemonade stand. We made some new friends and enjoyed some more great swimming and a BBQ. A big highlight was a trip to Yosemite. The boys impressed us all with a hike to the top of Vernal Falls. The beauty of those mountains and falls are awe inspiring.

We took a quick run up to Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe. It was the home of the 1960 Winter Olympics and one of my favorite places in the world. My parents have a cabin there that needed some yard work. The boys Great Grandma Mimi also lives up in Reno, NV and we were able to have a wonderful visit with her.
